This week was another crazy week. I can't even remember all that I did because everyday is just such a blur now! I didn't do very well on my midterm though which I won't forget. It was funny because later that day I felt prompted that I needed to do a practice activity with the missionaries with teaching to my needs. I asked for a couple of volunteers then I proceeded to tell them about my concern with school and how I didn't do very well on my test. Then they both proceeded to share a couple of scriptures with me and bear testimony with me. It seriously was amazing the things that they said to me. It wasn't a huge concern of mine but it was great. One elder said to put the Lord first and things will work out and I said "I am putting the Lord first!" Then he said to continue to do that and have the faith and patience that things will work out. It was a great experience. Sis. Crenshaw wrote me a little note the next day too with some nice things. Anyway, I just love those I teach. I seriously learn from them everyday! I try my best to help them and in turn they help me. Anyway, that was pretty much the exciting thing that happened last week. I went to the temple and watched the football game. Seriously my saturdays are so busy all the time! Oh, I did give a talk on sunday in church. I spoke about my testimony of the first vision of Joseph Smith. I pretty much just focused on testimony and why it's important that we gain that testimony of the first vision along with other things. I hope it went well. To be honest I can't remember most of the things that I said. I just wrote down a few things to say then went from there. A couple people complimented me on it so it couldn't have been too bad. Welp it's off to basketball practice again. Things have definitely started to get busier since basketball has started full practices and it's about to get even busier when games start next week. I just hope that I can survive!

Those who learn to laugh at themselves will never cease to be amused
This week was a very interesting yet great week. I'm not going to add all of the details that I wrote in my journal but I'll just tell you all a few interesting things that happened. So tuesday was interesting since in my new testament class we talked all about relationships and marriage. It was a weird topic but he said some really cool things. Anyway, wednesday went pretty well too. I had class then basketball then went straight to work. We had a great training meeting and then I taught my district. It was kind of stressful since our room doesn't have internet yet and other things and then I was trying to interview all the missionaries yet help them practice and such. But the night turned out really well. We got a lot accomplished and I felt that they were very prepared for their TRC (where they teach volunteers) the next night. Anyway, then I met with my co-teacher who is amazing and we talked about some things with the district. So after that I'm leaving the MTC and I remember crap I was supposed to have an interview with a member of the Bishopric like 10 minutes ago. So I call them and they said to head over there anyway. So this whole time I'm thinking wow I don't want to go and that I feel so bad for being late. So I meet with Bro. Chase who is amazing by the way!! It was the best interview ever. He just sat down and got to know me and we talked about all kinds of things. Then a couple of times he stopped and said that the Spirit was prompting him to tell me that the Lord is hearing and answering my prayers and will help me with what I have been praying with. Wow! Little did Bro. Chase know that a few things have been on my mind lately and I've been praying a lot about them. But it's such a testimony builder for me that our Heavenly Father does hear and answer our prayers even if we don't think so. He also told me that I'm one of his favorite people in the ward and that I don't realize how many people are watching me and look up to me. He definitely is right about that. I guess I need to be a better example in everything that I do. So the night ended awesome.
Thursday morning was great too. Work went well and then I went to a LGM at the MTC where they talked a lot about exercising faith as a missionary. That hit me really hard because I know that I need to be having more faith. He said that miracles just happen through the application of basic principles. It's so true! Miracles happen everyday! The rest of that day after class I spent studying for a midterm for the next day and I watched parts of our lousy football game. So that night ended kind of disappointing. But you know I really wasn't that upset about the loss. I love sports but since I've come home from my mission I've realized that there are a lot more important things in life than that! I mean it has a lot to do with my profession but still it's not everything! And I've been so much better at putting the Lord first in my life the past couple of semesters. It was really hard when working with football. Anyway, friday morning I took my midterm then did some other homework then headed to work which went well too. Then I went to Divine Comedy a comedy group on campus. It was pretty funny. It's hard to explain the skits that they did because they're very specific to BYU and the culture here but it was funny. So it was a long night and I couldn't sleep too well yet had to wake up early in the morning for work the next day. Now this is where the funny part starts!
So I wake up early in the morning, put on my tanktop then my church clothes and head to work. To make the story short when I got in the elevator at the MTC I realized wow! I'm not wearing a bra! It was when I was going "up" that I realized that I was going "down" if you get what I mean. haha!! Anyway, I just started laughing out loud to myself in the elevator and thought "what would Elder Wirthlin think if he were here." So i'm pretty sure no one noticed because I was wearing a loose shirt but it was funny anyway! I'm definitely so used to my self that I can laugh when things like this happen. I remember reading a quote one time that states "Those who learn to laugh at themselves will never cease to be amused." Wow is that true! Then sunday something else funny happened but I'll spare you the details about that. It's kind of a long story. So to wrap up the week: It was very entertaining and stressful yet so spiritual at the same time. It was great! I need to do better in my Exercise Physiology class though and have a midterm in that class probably on friday but maybe next monday. But I REALLY need to study for that. So it was great and I learned a lot this week. We have a service project tonight where we are putting together humanitarian kits and then my council is going to have to do a lot with that this week so we'll see how that goes. Anyway, hope all it well with everyone and that I made some of you laugh because I sure know that I did!

My district is amazing!
Okay can I just say that my district at the MTC is amazing! They are the most wonderful young men and women ever! I'll just tell you a few stories about them this week. I've learned so much from them just this past week that I don't know if I can remember everything! First of all on wednesday I was teaching and noticed that one of the sisters seemed to not be doing too well. So I took her aside and talked to her. She said that she was just a little bit homesick and started crying to me. So we talked about what to do about it for a while and she said she'd tell them not to write distracting things, etc. She has been fine since. Then I interviewed with another sister who I was just finished talking to then at the end I said, "Is there anything else that I can do for you?" Then she proceeded to tell me that her 18 year old sister was just killed in a car accident in July and starting crying and such. Wow what a day! And her dad is not a member and most of her family doesn't go to church either. But she told me that the sunday before her sister's accident she went back to church for the first time in a while and talked to the Bishop about getting some things cleared up and how she made a transformation. She told me that she's doing fine with it all because she knows that her sister died at a high point in her life and she knows she will see her again. Seriously this sister is amazing! What a strong testimony! Anyway, another day I taught them a language principle and when I had them practice it they all did so amazingly well! I was so surprised! They are all progressing so well. They love to make jokes and laugh a lot too which can be a good thing at times. They got me to talk about something that was bugging me and on my mind and it was great. I feel like they are my friends and that I can trust them with anything. Another awesome thing that happened....so we were discussing learning by the Holy Ghost from Preach My Gospel and then when I asked them about any experiences that they've had that same sister said that her and her companion have really been praying while they are making their lesson plans so that they can know the needs of the person that they were going to teach at the TRC (place where volunteers come and are taught a lesson by the missionaries) and she said that they had both been getting certain promptings to focus on certain things during the lesson. Seriously they are so amazing. They do things without having to be told. I can't wait to teach them tomorrow morning. I get so excited to teach them!
On a different note, thurs. night we had a culture night about Asia. One of the elders from my mission happens to be in my ward now and he shared a little about the Philippines and such. It just brought back some awesome memories and I remembered how amazing and loving they are! I also got to learn a lot about India, Japan and Malaysia. Malaysia sounds a lot like the Philippines. Wow I miss the people so much! Anyway, friday night after work I went to a friends house and ate Filipino food. The food he cooked was so good. He made the best lumpia! That made me miss the food so much. Yummy! Saturday night I subbed for one of the teachers who was going to the football game. His district is really nice but of course mine is better! haha....anyway we watched a talk by Elder Holland entitled "Miracle of a Mission". It's not released to the public so I can't say much about the movie but let's just say WOW! He is amazing! He talked about making every second count and that the Lord doesn't expects us to be heroes but he expects something heroic out of all of us. He talked a little about his mission and how it was everything to him! Wow! My mission was everything to me! I tried so hard to be obedient and to do the right things but I admit that I am not perfect. I am far from perfect! I made a lot of mistakes but I always, always tried to be obedient to everything. I am who I am right now because of my mission. I owe everything to the Lord for allowing me to serve a mission. I mean part of the reason that I went on a mission was because I felt so blessed and so indebted to my Savior so I wanted to repay Him even a little. But now I can't help but feel even more indebted to Him because of things that happened on my mission and mostly for the things that I learned and the people that I met and the person that I have become. It seriously got me thinking so much. But wow is this church true! No doubt in my mind and no one can ever convince me otherwise! I can't imagine missing a week of church and not devoting all my time to the Lord!
Well I have currently lost my voice. I think I stayed up late one night and worked a lot the next day and it kind of caught up with me. I have so much more that I could say but I think this is good for now. It was a good week but I want to make this week better. I can improve on a lot of things and I need to manage my time for wisely. I have a midterm to take this weekend sometime and I really need to sit down and study. I also have a midterm next friday and I need to start studying for that. Basketball starts real practices this friday so things are going to start getting even more busy so I really need to take these last couple days off for granted! Anyway, I need to run to the store and then FHE but I wanted to write something before I forgot. I hope all is well with everyone and this updates you enough as to what is going on in my life!

Well this week went pretty well. It was a pretty busy week though. The highlight of the week was getting a new district. They came in on wednesday and my co-teacher, Bro. Jones and I spent some time preparing the room and getting ready for their arrival. Then I taught them on tues. morn. It went really well. I have 12 missionaries of which 4 are sisters! There is a great atmosphere in the room and they are all so excited and happy. So it was fun to talk to them and get to know them. We laid a lot of things on them to study and prepare so I feel bad. The first couple weeks are always busy and tough. I only got to teach them one day though since friday I got a sub so I could go to my mission reunion and no one had to work on saturday because of general conference. I don't work mondays either so tomorrow morning will be my first time teaching them in a while. Anyway we did take a district picture to post on our door for decoration so I need to remember to bring that in. Anyway, my co-teacher is awesome and so are the missionaries! I am seriously so excited for these next couple of months! Friday night I went to my mission reunion. I carpooled with another kid from my mission that I work with and we ended up getting lost and made it 2 hours late. Plus a friend of mine wanted to be dropped off at a reception in SLC she said but it ended up being in bountiful so that sidetracked us quite a while. I felt so bad for the kid who drove because we went everywhere and got lost! But he was so nice about everything. At least we got a chance to serve and help someone out. Anyway I was pretty embarrassed with everything and decided that I'm a terrible navigator unless I have specific instructions. But we finally made it late and our mission president was just finishing up. Then he said "It looks like we have a couple late comers. You want to come up and introduce yourselves." So I grab the microphone and Pres. Labrum asks, "So are you two together?" And I was like "Yes. I mean no. We're not together together we just drove together." It was so embarrassing! Everyone just started laughing. Anyway, it was okay but I did feel kinda embarrassed for a few seconds. Anyway, it was great to see Pres. Labrum and the night ended up going well.
Welp I gotta head to class. It's going to be a busy week because I have another test the end of this week and a bunch of reading that I need to get done. I just have a hard time staying focused on my studying but I know I need to do better. I really want to and need to get good grades. I am excited for this week of teaching at the MTC as well. I'll have to post that pic too. Next week basketball is going to pick up and be really busy so i'm a little nervous about that. At least I will have just finished all my midterms for the next few weeks so I'll get a short break from all of that. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone at that you learn to laugh at all the moments in life even if they seem hard. But watch out for those blind dates with old people haha!
